About Westminster Wealth Preservation
Founded in 2013, Westminster Wealth Preservation specialises in the provision of legal documents, in particular Lifetime Trust Deeds.
Rather than providing legal drafting services directly to the general public, we work with a national network of Westminster Law partners and other professional advisers to provide access to the services of experienced independent barristers on behalf of their clients.
The foundations of our company are in the expert and principled legal services we are able to offer the clients of our professional partners. By providing direct access to a Barrister with the expertise to effectively assist with specific financial and estate planning requirements, we are able to fulfil the desire of professional partners to always deliver a valued and ethical service to their client.
Westminster Wealth Preservation was set up as a result of an identified need for people to protect their assets during their lifetime and later, for their children and grandchildren.
The world we live in has become far more complicated over recent years; families now have to make many more complex decisions that can have far-reaching consequences. Decisions made today will either protect your wealth for the future or inadvertently jeopardise it. Laws change, living costs increase, tax thresholds move and family and personal circumstances change; all of these factors need to be taken into account as you make these decisions. Wills, whilst important, cannot offer you the full protection you may want in certain circumstances. Why Plan?
The Asset Protection Trust offers you the opportunity to ring-fence your assets for your future, and your children and grandchildren’s futures, protecting them from being used in ways that you would not choose.
Peter Lamb, Founder of Westminster Wealth Preservation
“For most of us, making plans to ensure that our loved ones are taken care of once we have gone and making sure that they get the maximum benefit from the assets we have managed to acquire over our lifetime is one of the most important things we will ever do.
But, it’s not just how much we are leaving to them that is important. It’s crucial that our assets are well protected and secure whilst we are still here during our lifetime so that our loved ones receive the maximum inheritance when we are gone.
It’s a sad, but all too common fact, that “sideways disinheritance” affects many tens of thousands of families every year. Assets meant for children or other beneficiaries are often diverted away from the desired inheritance line due to one of many possible events in life that will affect most families at some point.
What is most frustrating is that the deceased’s wishes not being fulfilled is all so avoidable. In addition, the many expensive deductions that dilute someone’s estate after they have passed on, plus the lengthy delays a beneficiary suffers before receiving their inheritance, can be mitigated completely or reduced dramatically with a little thought and the right planning.
The problem is often that people just don’t receive the help they need to consider all of the eventualities that could adversely affect their wishes. They simply aren’t aware of all the options available, such as Asset Protection Trusts, which are without doubt the most useful and robust Estate Planning product to provide the certainty and peace of mind that wishes will be respected and loved ones’ inheritance protected.
Everyone’s personal and family circumstances are different and a Will alone might not be sufficient to ensure that your wishes are met. There are many different estate planning options and that’s why it is imperative you receive sound advice, tailored for your own personal circumstances, from a trusted, experienced professional.”
